A magical trip over and underground.
We visited this wonderful garden on the last opening day of the year really not expecting much. We were surprised to find a new discovery round every corner. Beautiful plants, wildlife, mature trees, fairies and grottoes. It's a wonderland for adults and children alike. Open up your imagination and let it take flight!
A big thank you to the staff who couldn't have been more welcoming and supportive. The small cafe came up trumps and met my allergy needs with scrumptious cake.
A truly lovely time had. We will be back even though the garden is nowhere near home.
After many years of living in Caldicot my wife and I decided to visit our local attraction and it was a worthwhile way to spend a couple of hours. £8.50 for an adult ticket. Very well maintained water features with colourful flowers with a fun game of exploring searching for items on a list. The house is well maintained but not open to the public. An onsite cafe at the entrance, where we stopped for a refreshment before leaving. Welsh cakes at 20p each, good value.
Lovely place to visit. A lot of work has been put into the rejuvenation and maintenance of the grotto and gardens. Great to walk through the gardens. A good selection of shrubs and bulbs.
There is a tearoom with drinks and food, or you can bring a picnic.
The season ticket is a good idea if you are local, as you can pop in throughout the open season.
Excellent value for money, and kids will love the underground grottos, water caverns, and the fairy challenge adventure. A lovely cafeteria. And an all over wonderful place to chill out on the beautiful lawns and sit near fish filled ponds and waterfalls.
The staff are great too 👍 will definitely be back soon without the kids 🤣.
A lovely and unique little gem of a place. We really enjoyed exploring the beautifully kept gardens and grottoes and were pleasantly surprised at how extensive the grottoes are. Very peaceful as well, with the sound of water running through streams and waterfalls in the majority of the gardens. Loved it.
Little hidden gem. Beautiful place, it isn't big but it's magical. Spent couple of hours here including picnic, had ice cream, kids loved it. They were doing a trail when we visited which was fun.
Not pram friendly. I dragged the pram around grottos and then turned around and took it back to the car.
The most amazing creation of labyrinths and tunnels. Grandchildren had a great time doing the Gnome and Fairy trail through the gardens. Fab teashop with wonderful home made cakes, staff friendly and attentive. Super covered outdoor seating. A really lovely day out.
To be honest it didn't take long to stroll around these partly restored and re-excavated Victorian gardens but the grottoes were certainly worth a look and there were some very nice borders. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're unsteady on your feet!
